Can Buying Blog Reviews Boost Your Traffic?

by AlanJenks on June 1, 2009

If you sell a product online or run your own business, you always want to drive more traffic to your website. Despite the huge number or people on the Internet, traffic comes at a premium, so you have to do something to attract people to your site. One of the ways you can do that is by buying reviews on other people’s blogs to create backlinks. This involves paying or reimbursing a blogger to review and comment on your product on their blog, and works best if you find a blog that has a decent amount of traffic. You should also choose a blog that is related to your niche, so that the product placement will appear natural.

Buying blog posts really isn’t that hard to do; you just have to find the right blogs to push your product. Some blogs are better than others, some have more following, and some others simply rank very high in search engines. What you’re looking for is a blog with the same target audience as your product seeks to reach. That way, you’re almost guaranteed interested parties. The blog‘s readers are already interested in your niche – you just have to show them why they’re interested in your specific product.

You’ll need to contact the blogger about having him or her post a comment or a review on their blog. You can pay them, trade services with them, offer them a free sample of your product, or whatever you else want to do to motivate them to write a review for you. It is essential that they not write it up as if you paid them to. Did you realize that instead of running a focus group to test how well your product will do, you could simply ask a blogger to write an honest review? If they do this, then you can get some idea of how your product tests in a specific market or demographic. Be sure to explain that you’d like to hear both the positive and negative points about your product, and that you’re not simply looking for an advertisement on their blog.

When you pay a blogger to post a review of your product, you are basically guaranteed to get targeted traffic. People sent directly to your site because they are interested in the type of product that you offer. You can’t get better advertising than that. So many people read blogs every day that you’re sure to find one in your niche that would be willing to promote a product, or at the very least write a review of it. Asking a blogger to promote your product is a win-win situation. They get a free product (or money), and you get directly targeted advertising delivered daily onto the screens of people that are almost guaranteed to be interested.
